Charity Info

Surbiton Hockey Club holds an annual Charity Day (normally in December) in memory of Tony Smith our former Colts’ Head Coach who died suddenly some ten years ago and who was involved with our Colts section since its inception in the 1990's.

We will be holding a charity raffle during the tournament.

The proceeds of the Tony Smith Charity Day are currently distributed to three charities:

The Ben Williams Trust - Tony's nominated charity which provides support to children with abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias) and their families, helping them to learn to live with their conditions and in some cases the threat of sudden death. Ben Williams was a talented young cricketer coached by Tony who died from this condition at the tragically early age of 13.

Cardiac Risk in the Young (CRY) - Our donations to this national charity are made in the memory of Emma Broad, a Club member and junior hockey international who died suddenly from a cardiac arrest at the tragically young age of 16.

Anthony Nolan - Our donations are made to recognise the support given by this national charity to a Club member and her young son in his eventually successful battle against leukaemia.

Well done @OliviaChilton8 man of the match 👊👊👊
